Are We Living in the Real-Life Squid Games?

Spoiler Alerts Ahead

Can you imagine if movies were indicators of what our future holds? I mean, who needs a psychic mediumship reading when you can watch subliminal messages on the screen, right?

Right…

If you haven’t tapped and tuned into one of the most popular series on Netflix currently, Squid Games, then you’re missing out on seeing what’s in our crystal ball.

From series theories to hidden symbology in the first series of Squid Games, I began and then stopped watching after the third episode. For myself, the blatant answer of who the creator was was sensed and confirmed immediately. It ruined all the fun.

My sister, on the other hand, reasoned her way through the series. When I joined her again on our couch to finish the series, it got me thinking. In particular, in the second episode where the contestants were only given one egg and a bottle of milk for dinner.

A strategic action from the creator of the games to incite anger, anxiety, irritability, and stress before the next scene of bloodshed. A scene where the contestants would eliminate the others in every and any possible way to win the money. Absolute savagery.

Well, it’s about to get more animalistic in real life as cargo ships become more and more backlogged at the US’s main ports. There is not enough manpower to unload the containers fast enough, which means ships are standing still in our oceans, waiting. Drifting. A term used for ships being placed so far out from the shore, the water is too deep to drop an anchor. They call this the drift area because the ships can’t help but shift with the wind.

As of Sunday, October 10th, 2021, 87 vessels were waiting just off the coast to get to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. With the decline of good employees and the disruption in supply chains around the world, we are looking at a shortage on all levels. And I’m not only talking about toilet paper.

This is a great time to stock up on perishables and medications needed for the next six months as we head into wintertime. This is a great time to prepare you and your family for the inevitable. You know how insurance is the one thing you need when you want it and it’s already too late?

The same goes for food, clean water, and medications that you need if and when supplies run low. Those who mistake this for fear-mongering are the same people living in a land of a fantasy of unlimited supplies and ignorance.

noun: ignorance

  1. lack of knowledge or information.”He acted in ignorance of basic procedures”

Those living in ignorance lack knowledge or information. They can choose to do their research or not. For those of us who do our research, understand patterns and basic economics; it will be a matter of time when the prices quadruple our basic necessities and we will be eating one egg for dinner. One bottle of milk to drink, if we’re lucky.

The projected annual inflation rate for the U.S. in 2019 was somewhere around 2%. According to Statisca.com, from 2020 to 2021, it jumped up one whole percent to 2.26%.

Inflation is a decrease in the purchasing power of money, reflected in a general increase in the prices of goods and services in an economy. Inflation changes the ratio of money towards goods or services; more money is needed to get the same amount of a good or service, or the same amount of money will get a lower amount of a good or service.

After flying twice a year to the States from being abroad for over five years, I felt and saw the drastic increase of my same favorite restaurants and items. It has doubled in the last couple of years and it will continue as cargo ships and the lack of help stalls to drift in the wind.

We are technically not playing in the Squid Games or the Hunger Games, but we are playing the game of life. In this game of life, those who are ignorant or unaware of such a game will be eliminated from each round. The tightening and lack of supplies compounded with the slower police response times nationwide is unsettling.

All you have to do to see it is detach yourself from your reality. Pull yourself up and out to see a higher perspective from your city, to your county, then country. Then advance into a world’s point of view and to see the patterns of what is happening in each country.

We can’t save everyone or heal everyone, but we can prepare for ourselves and our families, and those we love the most. Ever heard of the term, ‘better safe than sorry?’

Preparing yourself in advance allows you to have less stress in the times when sh*t hits the fan. Which in turn allows you to safely respond versus emotionally reacting in stressful times. It’s better for your immune system, nervous system, emotional body, physical, mental and spiritual body. All of which domino’s from the inside out to assist in your outside world, affecting those closest to you.

That’s the type of strong and healthy domino I want to be in my life, what about you?
